Sicilia (various locations in Podgorica, inc. “Mall of Montenegro”) – this is a local Italian bakery and pizza chain (using a logo that evokes memories of Sicily’s mafia past). Each “Sicilia” outlet has a Starbucks-like interior, and Italian coffee, fresh Italian bread and pastries are available for a breakfast crowd, while pizzas, lasagnas, Italian hero sandwiches and other items are meant for lunchtime patrons.

Restaurant Zheng (Vojvode Masa Djurovica 31, 81000 Podgorica) – this is one of the few non-Italian or Montenegrin restaurants in Podgorica. A variety of Chinese and fusions dishes is served here. Travelers dining here have recommended the sweet and sour chicken and duck in soya sauce dishes that are served here. The staff is also English-speaking, and the wine list is considered decent.

Restaurant Cesarica (Stari grad 375, 85330 Kotor) – this family-run restaurant serves local dishes, including seafood (some of which is reputedly caught by one of the owners). Grilled octopus with olives, tomatoes and onions is one of the recommended dishes here. This restaurant is also steeped with old school atmosphere, complete with a stone interior, dim lighting and old family photos on its walls – suggesting this place has existed for centuries.
